Vintage Style Dresses

L’abbigliamento vintage è diventato incredibilmente popolare in questi ultimi anni.

Vintage clothing has become incredibly popular. This holds especially true for the dresses. There are numerous bohemian women over the age of forty with sophistication and class who favor these types of dresses. They are flattering, comfortable and unique. When layered they reflect the personality of the woman who put the outfit together.
The bohemian style was popular in the 1960s and 1970s and has since become known as vintage. The dresses were made of flowy fabrics. Natural fabrics were the most common because of the environmental concerns at that point in time. Most of the dresses have numerous layers and are very reminiscent of a gypsy. Often the true bohemian look was achieved by wearing many different layers of clothing.
An excellent example of a vintage bohemian outfit would be a tight bralette underneath a layered dress accented by a loose tunic on top. This style is incredibly flattering and looks especially well on an older woman. Most of the dresses fell just beneath the knees and had a waist that was extremely fitted. Although there were some designed in solid colors most of the dresses were accented with polka dots, floral prints, checks and assorted pictures.
One of the perks about vintage dresses is they have a flair skirt. The style suits all figure types and has a sense of casual sophistication. Peasant dresses were also very much the rage. They were often made of a natural gauze with an elasticized waist. As was the style they flowed freely and were easily layered.

A lot of emphasis in vintage dresses was placed on being in tune with nature. For this reason many of the vintage dresses were made of natural cotton, hemp and even cheese cloth. Butterflies, sunrises and sunsets and flowers were often printed on the dresses. Tight leggings were could be worn beneath the dresses to add a little more shape to the outfit as well as calling more attention to the flow of the skirt.

Vintage dresses can easily be found in flea markets, thrift stores and stores that specialize in vintage clothing. The pricing varies but is usually much higher in specialty stores. The colors are usually bold reds, oranges, yellows, blues and greens. Sheer flowing scarves are worn as an accent to the dresses. Most women who are interested in vintage bohemian fashions are free spirits, confident in their beliefs and values and have an incredibly personal sense of style.
